DIESEL SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE

Generally manufactures recommend too long a service interval on diesel vehicles.

It only takes one bad batch of fuel to do extensive, expensive damage.

Our specialist technicians at O2 Auto Sports have lots of experience working with diesel vehicles. This has lead our team to recommend more regular fuel filter changes. It is also advisable to add additional filters and water traps on vehicles with common problems.

Our team keeps up to date with regular training on Diesel vehicle maintenance. We utilize the latest equipment available for Diesel tuning.

Our professional team can advise you on  the best course of action for your diesel vehicle.

POPULAR QUESTIONS

  • TYRE PRESSURE

Tyre pressures should be checked regularly (at least every 2 -4 weeks) as they are the key variable that ensures your tyres are operating safely.  Pressures should be checked cold, as there is an increase when the tyre has warmed up after being driven. The best tyre pressure for your car is indicated on the tyre placard. The recommendation on the placard is generally a minimum requirement and we would advise you increase this amount by 2-4 psi.

    It is important to maintain the correct tyre pressure for your vehicle, failing to do so can result in some of the following consequences;

    – Compromised road handling, braking and ride comfort

    – Uneven tyre wear, causing premature tyre replacement

    – Stress on tyre casings, increasing risk of tyre failure

    – Poor fuel consumption

  • TYRE ROTATIONS

The most important tyre maintenance tip is to regularly rotate your tyres.  Rotating your tyres will maximise overall tread life, even out wear patterns of both front and rear tyres, and reduce tyre noise and vibrations.Depending on the vehicle we recommend tyre rotations every 5-10,000 klms.

  • WHAT TYRE IS THE CORRECT TYRE FOR MY CAR?

The Right Tyre For Your Car
Your correct tyre size and tyre pressure can be found in your vehicle’s owners’ manual in the glove compartment or on the OEM sticker on your driver’s side door.

    Tyre Size
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Quite simply, these are the tyre specs that originally came with your vehicle, according to the manufacturer’s specifications and requirements. It includes the tyre size, rim size, the aspect ratio etc.
